We Are Participating in Baltimore Beer Week!
The inaugural Baltimore Beer Week will start on October 8th, 2009 with 11 full days celebrating “All Things Beer in the Land of Pleasant Living”. What originally started as a simple idea for a Baltimore beer club has now become the inaugural Baltimore Beer Week. This promises to be one of the most exciting events the Baltimore region has ever seen. Victoria Gastro Pub is one of the sponsors of Beer Week and is hosting 15 different breweries. Come taste many unique and rare beer offerings with limited availability and talk with the brewery representatives.
The breweries will also be offering many FREE giveaways.

Howard County Police say motorists are advised to expect traffic congestion and delays in the area of Merriweather Post Pavilion and The Mall in Columbia this Sunday dueto the Virgin Mobile FreeFest, which is expected to draw 30,000 concertgoers.
Starting at 10 a.m., police will be directing traffic on Little Patuxent Parkway, Brokenland Parkway, South Entrance Road and Hickory Ridge Road. Delays arealso expected on U.S. 29. Police will be using message boards and additionalsignage to assist motorists.
Little Patuxent Parkway from Brokenland Parkway to South Entrance Road will be closed to through traffic from 8:30 a.m. to midnight.
Full access to The Mall in Columbia and Toby’s Dinner Theatre will be available, however, motorists should plan ahead and allow extra travel time.

Howard County police say they arrested 31 people, most of them for drug violations, at a Phish concert that attracted nearly 20,000 to Merriweather Post Pavilion on Saturday.
Police say some of the drugs were being sold out of a recreational vehicle with Colorado tags. Police say they arrested 4 men who were inside the RV, and they seized the vehicle and more than $12,000 worth of drugs. Two of the men inside the van were from Colorado, one was from Vermont, and the fourth was from New York. All are charged with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In addition, police say they arrested 20 other people at the concert for possession of drugs including marijuana, nitrous oxide and LSD. Two people were arrested for trespassing, and two others were arrested for assaulting a police officer.

Howard County Police say a concert by the rock band Phish at the Merriweather Post Pavilion is expected to draw thousands of motorists to Columbia today, and they say there will be road closings and traffic jams.
Starting at 10 a.m. police will be directing traffic on Little Patuxent Parkway, Brokenland Parkway, South Entrance Road and Hickory Ridge Road.
From 3 p.m. until 7 p.m., police will close Little Patuxent Parkway to traffic between Brokenland Parkway and South Entrance Road.

Howard County Police are investigating a stabbing in Columbia.
Police say a man was stabbed several times in the 5700 Block of Columbia Rd shortly before 5 p.m.
Police are searching for three men believed to be involved in the stabbing and those suspects may have blood on their clothes. Police are also trying to determine what led to the stabbing.
